There is a very close relationship between Country music and Southern Gospel Music. Many Country artists grew up in church. Very often they sang their first songs in church. The Gospel left an imprint on their lives and it shows in their music. Hank Williams, Sr., is a prime example. He wrote quite a few Gospel songs.
The Chordsmen have selected a Country theme for our May event. We will be featuring many songs that are considered Country-flavored in their presentation of the gospel. Granted, there are many Country songs that are far from Gospel, but we leave those where they are.
Country music has been dubbed “three chords and the truth.” The average person can relate to that. You will hear some classics and maybe a few newer ones. There won’t be time to do them all, but maybe your favorite will be in the mix.
Come share the evening with us May 10th at 7PM. Theater seating means a great view of the stage from any seat.
